About the museum

Kongsvinger Museum has two buildings in the old Fortress Town in Kongsvinger: Gyldenborg, where the museum's offices and some of its exhibitions are located, and Aamodtgården. Kongsvinger Museum is also responsible for the school museum of Skinnarbøl.

Gyldenborg is the administrative center for the four consolidated museums in the region, under Anno museum, an organisation of museums in the county of Hedmark. This region includes Eidskog museum Odalstunet and the Women's Museum of Norway. Gyldenborg also includes a gift shop and a small library.
